Buttigieg: Americans "could be saving a lot of money" if only they could afford electric vehicles

Pete Buttigieg couldn't handle running South Bend, Indiana. Now he's Joe Biden's secretary of Transportation.

Today he said Americans "could be saving a lot of money" if only they could afford electric vehicles.

Buttigieg's alter ego is Mad Magazine's Alfred E. Neuman.

I recall a Mad cartoon where a know-it-all man tells someone, "It takes money to make money." The other man replies, "If that's the truth, then why aren't you rich?"

The first man replies, "I can't afford it."

Electric cars, the good ones that is, have MSRP's of $40K. Most Americans can't afford one because they are not rich. And leftist inflationary policies won't make you wealthy.

And that assumes you can find one to buy.
