Franken attacks Trump as he announces that he will resign 'in the coming weeks'

US Sen. Al Franken (D-MN), under fire after being accused multiple times of sexual assault, announced on the Senate floor this morning that he would be resigning 'in the coming weeks.' Why not now? After all, the disgraced John Conyers (D-MI), made his departure an immediate one.

In his speech, Franken attacked President Donald J. Trump for his reckless comments about women. Fine. But when voters headed to the polls last year they knew about Trump's loose talk--which was not the case with Franken's alleged assaults. And the latest accusation comes from 2009 and it allegedly took place at a party celebrating Barack Obama's inauguration held by the leftist group Media Matters, at a time the results of the disputed election between Franken and his Republican opponent was still unknown.

Missing from Stuart Smalley's address was an apology.
