Chiraq: 4 dead and at least 23 others wounded over weekend

It was noticeably colder this weekend as opposed to the last one in Chicago, so shootings predictably dropped. Four people were shot to death in Chiraq during this weekend and at least 23 others were wounded. Twice that many were shot last weekend.

But leave it to me to find the bad news among the good. Two of the fatal shootings happened in normally quiet areas, Goose Island on the North Side and Belmont-Cragin on the Northwest Side. The other murders took place in West Pullman on the Far South Side and Brighton Park. That Southwest Side neighborhood is becoming a hot spot for violence.
