Three weeks ago I posted some photographs with fall colors at the Camp Pine Woods Forest Preserve in Des Plaines, Illinois.
Here are some from last week.
A man walks south on Des Plaines River Trail.
Quaking aspen trees are uncommon in the Chicago area--but Camp Pine has a stand of them.
Whereas sugar maples are more abundant. Way off in the distance you'll see a man and his dog.
Here the maples take on an orange shade.
Okay, this may be cheating but the next two photographs are from Lake Avenue Woods East--which is across the street from Camp Pine Woods.
Maples and oaks again.
That's the same trail shown in the first photograph, only facing north.
