Even though there were snow flurries on Halloween and Thanksgiving, the first significant snowfall of the year happened this past weekend.
I celebrated the occasion by going out for a run and capturing some photographic images before sunset on Sunday at Morton Grove, Illinois' Miami Woods.
The running path.
A nameless creek.
A red oak at the Miami Woods restored prairie.
And another one.
A dormant wildflower.
Two white-tailed deer with winter coats foraging for food.
The North Branch of the Chicago River.
Sunset over the prairie.
Time to run back home.
