It on this day one ago today that Wisconsin's reform governor, Republican Scott Walker, survived a union-driven recall challenge. Walker increased his share of the vote over the same Democratic rival two years earlier.
Meanwhile in my cursed Illinois, two days ago Fitch lowered the state's credit rating. Again. Public sector unions vehemently oppose much needed-pension reform. The Democrats, who control the governor's mansion and have supermajorities in both chambers of the General Assembly, are unable to stand up to the unions who are so generous to their campaign treasuries.
Wisconsin and Illinois: So close geographically--but otherwise so different.
The Land of Lincoln needs a Scott Walker.
