Replacing Tom Donilon, who is resigning, President Obama has picked UN Ambassador Susan Rice as his next national security advisor.
Rice's most public act was her appearance last September on five Sunday political talk shows pushing the since debunked Benghazi talking points--she blamed the attacks on a Z-list YouTube video.
Her appointment does not require Senate approval.
