With Watergate back in the news--courtesy of White House economic czar's Gene Sperling's threat on Bob Woodward--I thought it would be a good idea to pass on to my readers that on this day in 1974, the Watergate Seven: John Ehrlichman, H.R. Haldeman, John Mitchell, Charles Colson, and three others were indicted by a federal grand jury. President Richard M. Nixon faced the ignominy--not his last--of being named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the court papers.
