Chicago's Christopher Columbus statue

Happy Columbus Day! It is a holiday for some people--but I'll be working. Today marks the anniversary--which was actually October 12--of when Christopher Columbus and his men landed in the New World and dramatically changed history.

On the right is a statue of the Italian admiral who sailed for Spain at Chicago's Columbus Drive, which I photographed yesterday.
