Hollow victory for Rahm? Motorola Mobility cutting 1/5 of jobs

Last month Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel pounded his chest when the news broke that Google-owned Motorola Mobility was moving its 3,000 person headquarters from suburban Libertyville to downtown Chicago.

This morning the New York Times is reporting that the firm is laying off twenty percent of its 4,000 person workforce. One third of those pink pink slips will be handed to American employees.

A hollow victory for Rahm?
