Failure: Special session of IL General Assembly does not address pensions

Springfield is broken
Illinois has an unfunded pension liability of $130 billion. Governor Pat Quinn, a Chicago Democrat, called a special session to address pension reform. Taxpayers such as myself got hosed again--the Democratic-controlled General Assembly did nothing.

The state worker pension shortfall is a festering sore that grows by $12 million per day. A Republican takeover in Springfield would be beneficial to taxpayers, but that's unlikely to occur because the sleazeballs running the two chambers, House Speaker Michael Madigan and John Cullerton--they're from Chicago as well--redrew legislative districts in a way that almost guarantees Democratic-rule for another ten years. They're adept at abusing power--but Madigan and Cullerton can't govern.

Everything that President Obama knows about spending taxpayer dollars he learned in Springfield.

As for Quinn, earlier this year said of the pension debacle that he "was was put on earth to get this done."

God does not like to be mocked.
