Iranian admiral: Ships coming soon to the Atlantic

Reagan statue, Dixon, IL
While Ronald Reagan never achieved his goal of a 600 ship Navy, he came close. But our current Navy has fewer than 300 active ships. Yes, I get it, the Cold War is over. But the world remains a dangerous place and while I'm not dismissing the flaws and the sins of the Evil Empire, the Soviet Union genuinely did not want to fight an apocalyptic war.

Iran is a different animal. While their Navy is tiny, we should not dismiss the vow from an Iranian admiral that the Islamic Republic will send vessels to the Atlantic--all the way to the maritime borders of our country.

Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism.
