Illinois corruption update: Bidding starts on assets seized from Dixon horse lady

Dixon, Illinois, January, 2009
Yes, there is corruption in Illinois outside of the Chicago area. This afternoon I have an update about Rita Crundwell, the former comptroller of Dixon, which of course was Ronald Reagan's hometown. The nationally-known horse breeder is accused of embezzling $53 million from the Lee County town.

The U.S. Marshals Service opened bidding yesterday on her luxury motor coach and 400 of her quarter horses. Bidding on the RV starts at $1 million.

So far Dixon has collected just $165,000 of the millions that were allegedly pilfered by Crundwell.
