Union calls on others to join its strike against American Red Cross blood services

Here's a downer of story. The Office and Professional Employees International Union has been on strike since March. In a press release, the union is "calling for all labor organizations with an open contract covering blood services to join in striking against the American Red Cross."

What about other unions? "OPEIU is also asking labor organizations to suspend all American Red Cross blood drives and all union members to not donate money or blood to the ARC until the strike is resolved," the statement added.

In this Teamsters blog post, the union decries Red Cross "greed." A United Food and Commercial Workers local is also on strike against the American Red Cross.

The strike currently covers Michigan's lower peninsula and the Toledo area, but the OPEIU wants the labor action to spread.

Is the OPEIU, which is part of the AFL-CIO, hoping for a blood shortage?

Striking against a charitable organization? WTF ? The depths these union/leftist cretins will lower themselves to is bottomless . And they have the cojones to call the Red Cross greedy ? Is it any wonder that union membership is in freefall ?
