Roskam statement on Memorial Day 2012

Chief Deputy Whip Peter Roskam (R-IL) issued the following statement this morning about Memorial Day.
As we gather with family and friends on this Memorial Day holiday, let us remember the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Each year, we honor the legacy of those who answered the call in times of great conflict and struggle. From the generation of young men and women who volunteered in the wake of the September 11th attacks, to World War II's Greatest Generation and beyond, the United States is defined by their bravery and eternally grateful for their sacrifice.

On this holiday, we must not forget the men and women serving around the world today, far from their homes and families. We honor their commitment to our great nation, and pray for their safe return.

God Bless our veterans and their families, and God Bless America.
