UTSen: Liljenquist announces run against Hatch; exclusive video of him speaking at BlogCon

At FreedomWorks' BlogCon 2011 last fall, Dan Liljenquist was coy about his plans for 2012. But he resigned his Utah state Senate seat last month and today the budget hawk announced that he will challenge six-term incumbent Orrin Hatch for the Republican nomination for the US Senate in Utah.

"It's time for a new generation of leaders to step up and take on the challenges of today," Liljenquist said on a video posted on his web site today. He's 37 years old, Hatch has been a US Senator for 35 years.

Liljenquist spoke at a BlogCon reception at the conclusion of the two day FreedomWorks event in Denver. Here is my exclusive video:
