Winter's belated arrival has driven many Canadian geese away from golf course ponds and office complex man-made lakes to a more traditional watery roost--the North Branch of the Chicago River.
I took this photograph early this afternoon from the Caldwell Avenue bridge in Niles.
I counted 52 geese. Click on the photograph to make it larger and you can see if I got the count right,
