Former Czech Republic president and Czechoslovakian dissident Vaclav Havel died today at 75. The former playwright became involved in politics after the arrest of a rock band, Plastic People of the Universe, Havel co-authored a call for human rights in the east bloc nation, Charter 77.
Havel was arrested numerous times while a dissident.
He was a reluctant politician, which is why he was a great leader.
Rest in peace.
