Almost exactly three years ago, December 6, 2008, Raghuveer Nayak, an Indian-American businessman and a close ally of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL) and since-disgraced Governor Rod Blagojevich, held a fundraiser for the hair-brained one in DuPage County. Yesterday the House Ethics Committee determined that there was "probable cause" to believe that Junior directed a third party, probably Nayak, to raise money for Blago, or at least the congressman knew about it. Junior made it clear to Nayak and Blagojevich that he wanted his fellow Chicago Democrat to appoint him to then-President-elect Obama's soon to be vacant US Senate seat.FBI wiretaps earlier captured Blago referring to that seat as "f*cking golden."
Three days after that fundraiser Blagojevich was arrested by federal authorities at his Northwest Side home.
In a story published by the Daily Herald about that seat on that ominous day, December 6, 2008, Jackson said, "So the bottom line is I believe I'm the best, ideal and most qualified candidate,"
What a guy, huh?
Jackson and his lawyer deny the accusations. The next step in the investigation is for Junior to respond to the allegations.
Illinois' new gerrymandered congressional map places Jackson in a contorted landmass that reaches far from his Chicago base--but into the home of former US Rep. Debbie Halvorson, who was defeated in her reelection bid by Republican Adam Kinzinger.
Junior is in a big f*cking mess.
