From a Dold press release:
Dold Visits the Regional Emergency Dispatch Center in Morton Grove

WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday, November 9, 2011, U.S. Congressman Robert J. Dold (IL-10) visited with representatives from the Regional Emergency Dispatch (RED) Center and leaders from the community.

"I am impressed by the work that is being performed at the RED Center," said Dold. "Public safety is key to providing strong communities and the RED Center is going above and beyond to ensure that they work with neighboring safety organizations so that our families are safer and to ensure that response time to emergencies is faster."

"The communities of the RED Center believe that intergovernmental consortium-based Fire and EMS dispatch is a key component to providing high quality cost effective publish safety services," said RED Joint Chiefs Authority Tom Friel. "RED Center has been providing fire and ambulance dispatch services to communities in the north suburban Chicago area since 1977. Our operational integration with neighboring fire departments, the Illinois Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS) and the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) serves as a best practice model for the future of Public Safety Dispatch throughout Illinois and the country. We appreciate Congressman Dold's attention and interest in support of our ongoing life safety mission."

Rep. Dold met with Mr. Jim Clausen, Executive Director of the RED Center, Mr. AC Buehler, Village of Northbrook Trustee and RED Center Board of Directors, Northbrook Fire Chief Mark Nolan, Lincolnshire/Riverwoods Deputy Fire Chief Tony Ugaste, Wilmette Fire Chief Jim Dominik, Lincolnwood Fire Chief Mike Hansen, and Morton Grove Fire Chief Tom Friel who also serves as Chairman of the RED Center Joint Chiefs Authority.
