Since Rolling Stone magazine is running a contest to have an unsigned band on its cover--a first for the magazine--I decided to choose an unknown act for my Saturday musical selection. But I don't know the name of the performer. I believe the song, which sounds like a missing track from the Pogues or Flogging Molly, is called "Buffalo Bill."
The video has vintage footage of a Buffalo Bill's Wild West street parade and Indian dancing, along with many posters from the show.
It begins this way: "This is the greatest story me grandad ever told me...when Buffalo Bill's wild west show came to Liverpool."
Nearly 100 years after his death, the Colonel still has a profound cultural impact well beyond his beloved Great Plains.
