Gov. Pat Quinn, who campaigned last fall as a supporter of capital punishment, but he's asking for input from the public in regards to signing into law a bill abolishing the death penalty in Illinois.
Last fall the governor said he supported a one percent income tax increase. But after Election Day he decided a two percent increase was in order. Thanks for getting around to telling us, Pat.
Meanwhile, state House Minority Leader Tom Cross (R-Oswego) claims Quinn persuaded some legislators to vote for his tax hike in exchange for ending the death penalty here.
I think I know how this movie is going to end.
