Next Sunday will bring an NFC Championship game for the ages. For only the second time in their storied rivalry, the Chicago Bears will face off against the Green Bay Packers in a playoff game.
Last time it went well for the Bears. Chicago defeated Green Bay in that game, and went on to win the 1941 NFL Championship.
As for the current edition of the Bears and the Packers, both teams started off slow and hit their stride late. They split their regular season games, but the second matchup, the last game of the regular season, meant nothing to the Bears--but if the Packers lost, it meant the end of their season.
Yesterday Green Bay knocked off top-seeded Atlanta. But the Bears host the game. The winner goes to the Super Bowl.
Both teams have villains the other side can grind their teeth over. Chicago has aloof quarterback Jay Cutler, of whom ESPN.com's Rick Reilly said, "If he's not the most hated man in the NFL, he's in the running." As for Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, did he really snub a cancer patient seeking an autograph at Green Bay's airport early this morning? I'm going to give Cutler the benefit of the doubt in regards to any social shortcomings, after all, the Santa Claus, Indiana native grew up a Bears fan.
Bears. Packers. Armageddon.
Okay, the sun will probably rise the following morning.
Or will it?
May the best team win. Especially if it's the Bears.

Rodgers didn't snub the cancer patient. She got his autograph last week before they left for Philly. The woman is a regular at the airport when the team travels.
WBAY pulled the video when they found out about her autograph last week. Mik Florio ran with it because Rodgers agent won't give him the time of day for his website.
