BP sins and feds costing jobs

I've said many times in this space that BP is a bad actor in the energy industry. A report issued yesterday from the National Academy of Engineering on Gulf oil spill throws a penalty flag at BP for an "insufficient consideration of risk" and "a lack of operating discipline."

The report also notes that government regulators didn't have "sufficient in-house expertise and technical capabilities." Yet the feds decided to impose a drilling moratorium and have added new regulations that not only impedes drilling, it's costing the Gulf region jobs.

And jobs are what people are clamoring for...it's a mixed up world we live in.
