Actress Vivica Fox to appear at Joel Pollak 'back to school' event on Labor Day

Vivica A. Fox, best known for her role in Independence Day, is coming to Evanston.

NILES, IL – The Pollak for Congress campaign will welcome Hollywood actress and producer Vivica A. Fox to the 9th district of Illinois for a back-to-school event on Labor Day.

The event, "Back to School with Vivica A. Fox" will feature a discussion with Ms. Fox about her career and the importance of education in our community.

Fox, who grew up in Indiana, hopes to send a positive message to young people in the district. "Stay in school and always put your best foot forward as your future is depending on it," she said. "Doors will open much easier for you if you have a good education to fall back on!"

Joel Pollak, Republican nominee for U.S. Congress in the 9th District of Illinois, welcomed Fox to the community. “I'm delighted to welcome Vivica Fox back to the Midwest. From film to television, from acting to producing, she's done it all,” said Pollak. “She's an inspiration to young people in our district, and an example of what education and hard work can accomplish. It is a great privilege to share her message with our community!"

The event will take place on Monday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martin Luther King Lab Magnet School (2424 Lake Street, Evanston, IL). Students that attend the event will receive complimentary educational gear.
