Illinois Democratic campaigns falling apart

Two embattled Illinois Democrats made dismissals this week. Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D-Crete), a loyal soldier for Rod Blagojevich when she was state Senate majority leader in Springfield, fired her campaign manager. Halvorson trails Air Force veteran Adam Kinzinger in opinion polls.

Speaking of Planet Blago, Governor Pat Quinn twice was the hair-brained one's running mate, and he canned his campaign media agency this morning. But the firm seems to have no regrets.

We and the Quinn campaign agreed that our divergent approaches to disciplined, professional communications are incompatible. We wish Pat well.
Leading the gubernatorial polls is Republican Bill Brady.
