The Chicago Tribune is reporting this morning that pawnbroker-turned-politician Scott Lee Cohen is running for governor. For about a week, Cohen was the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, but revelations about his personal life, including an assault arrest, patronizing "massage parlors," unpaid child support, and steroid abuse led Cohen to quit the ticket.
But six days ago, Tom Mannis of Chicago News Bench reported Cohen's gubernatorial aspirations.
Not surprisingly, the Trib didn't credit Mannis.
