Bypassing Congress, President Obama has issued a declaration of war on health insurance companies. Sadly, he isn't interested in doing the same to trial lawyers.
The first shot in the conflict was fired in Chicago, a known hotbed for bad ideas. As I noted this morning, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) told health insurers the "party's over." I wasn't aware it had started.
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius revealed this morning that she sent letters to several large insurance firms in which she requested that they their justifications for raising ther rates online.
And in the final assault, President Obama rallied his Cult of Change, declaring "We need to give families and businesses more control over their own health insurance."
How will he do that? By instituting ObamaCare, which the president's ardent supporters assume will take us to a single-payer system, which means, government-run health care.
What happened to the administration's laser-focus on creating jobs?
