Blago pleads innocent to revised charges

As if the beleagured Illinois Democratic Party didn't have enough to worry about, today there was another "Blago eruption." Hair-brained former Governor Rod Blagojevich pleaded innocent to revised charges that omit the "honest services" references contained in last year's indictment.

The trial is expected to begin in June, and could run through this fall's campaign season, guaranteeing many more embarrasing eruptions.

Bombastic as always, the budding reality-TV star (yet more eruptions!) had this to say about his federal wiretaps that promise to be the heart of the federal case against the Chicago Democrat:

I've instructed my lawyers to petition the court, petition so that every second, every minute, every hour that the government secretly taped me is provided to both sides to be heard and played in court.
