The Senate's second ranking Democrat, Dick Durbin of Illinois, who nominally represents me, now wants a second stimulus, according to Greg Hinz of Crain's Chicago Business.
The man who was the first politician to call for a special election to select Barack Obama's Senate replacement--something he almost immediately back off of--wants to use $30 or $40 billion unused Troubled Asset Relief Program for infrasture spending on job creation credits.
Here's a novel idea--for Democrats, that is: Give the money back to the taxpayers so the people, not the federal government, can spend their way out of this nasty recession.
As for Durbin, don't blame me--I voted for Steve Sauerberg in 2008.
