Public health care option defeated in Senate committee
The health care reform efforts got a little more complicated this afternoon when the Senate Finance Committee voted down a proposal to include a public option whatever emerges from the upper chamber. The committee's chairman is Max Baucus (D-MT), who is proposing his own plan--without a public option. AP is calling it a victory for Baucus, but no one other than the Montanan seems enthusiastic about BaucusCare.
