Obama: Leader of the free world?

I just watched AARP CEO Barry Rand on Fox News introduce Barack Obama at a White House media event regarding a deal cutting pharmaceutical prices.

Not only did Rand refer to Obama as "our beloved president," but he called him "the leader of the free world."

Is that so? If Obama really is the leader of the free world, then he should act on it and declare his support for the pro-Democracy Iranian protesters and denounce the mullahs who misrule Iran.
