Yesterday I was in Skokie, so I took another look at the North Shore Channel. Doesn't the water look clean? Well, what you see just is the canal a few yards downstream from where water is released from a Metropolitan Water Reclamation District treatment center.
The channel smelled clean too. Like laundry detergent. For real.

Smelled just like a spring rain,
kinda like the Rosemont waterfall
after some prankster(s) dumped
detergent into the water. They had
to drain it out and refill it.
Looks nice and foamy too!
If it was Adorian Ale I'd grab
myself a Pint.
Maybe kids were peeing in the
water man.
