Hillary Clinton wins in Pennsylvania

I'm watching Fox News Channel's coverage of the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary, and the quote of the night belongs to Terry McAuliffe, longtime Clintonista and the national chairman of Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. "Fair and balanced, Fox, you beat them all" is what he said. It might be the last time he speaks so kindly of the Fox News Channel. The network was the first to declare Hillary the winner of today's contest, hence McAuliffe's enthusiasm, albeit most likely temporary.

As expected, the former first lady did well among white, rural, and blue collar voters--y'know, the "bitter ones."

The fight goes on to Indiana and North Carolina. The large African American vote in the Tar Heel State will make Obama tough to beat in NC. Indiana, where Clinton drank a Crown Royale version of a boilermaker a couple of weeks ago, is her next must-win state. Most polls have them neck-and-neck in the Hoosier State. Northwest Indiana will be an interesting part of the to keep an eye on in the next two weeks. It's very blue collar, and anyone who has driven on the Indiana Tollway near Chicago will notice the massive steel mills in the Gary area. Gary has a very large African-American population. But when Northwest Indiana residents turn on their televisions for the local news, it comes from Chicago; Illinois-side radio stations dominate there as well. The Chicago electronic media has been covering Reverend Wright, and Tony Rezko, quite doggedly.

As for Pennsylvania, it's a big win for Senator Clinton. Obama outspent her 3-1 in the Keystone State.
