Glenn & Helen Show podcast with Michael Yon

Blogger, independent journalist, and author Michael Yon is the guest on the latest Glenn & Helen Show. Instapundit's Glenn Reynolds and his wife, Dr. Helen Smith ask Yon about his new book, Moment of Truth in Iraq: How a New 'Greatest Generation' of American Soldiers is Turning Defeat and Disaster into Victory and Hope

Smith says early in the podcast, "Michael Yon has spent more time as an embedded journalist in Iraq than any other reporter."

Based on the title of his book, it's easy to ascertain that Yon is an optimist about our mission in Iraq, although two years ago, he feared Iraq was headed towards civil war.

He knows what he's talking about, Yon is a former special forces soldier.

Here's something I learned in the podcast about the Iraq conflict--Yon tells Glenn and Helen that "more journalists have been killed in this war than in World War II."

An optimist in Iraq, yes--but he's concerned about our what's going on in Afghanistan.
