John McCain released from the "Hanoi Hilton"--thirty-five years ago today
An American hero was released from the torture prison known in Vietnam as Hỏa Lò. In the United States, the prison is better known by the derisive nickname of the "Hanoi Hilton" that was slapped on it by the American military men mistreated there.
On March 15, 1973, Navy pilot John S. McCain III was released by the North Vietnamese after the signing of the Paris Peace Accords.
The YouTube video is a must-view, even if you're not a McCain supporter.
