The morons who thought it'd be a neat idea to protest the war in Iraq at Holy Name Cathedral during Cardinal Francis George's Easter homily--even though the Catholic Church has been against the conflict ever since it started, are probably having second thoughts about their stunt. Five of the six were hit with a bail of $25,000. The sixth goof, who has a prior conviction for illegally entering US Military property, had his bail set at $35,000.
The unhappiness doesn't end there for the members of the so-called Catholic Schoolgirls Against the War. The six vandals, three men and three women, are charged with a felony--criminal damage to property in a place of worship.
The cost of cleaning and repairing the carpeting and upholstery damaged will be around $3,000.
"I think the bond is kind of high," is what the defendants lawyer said.
I think the bond is fair.
