Conrad Black headed to prison

This year's "trial of the century" in Chicago is the corruption trial of Democratic insider Antoin "Tony" Rezko. Two year's ago our trial of the century was the graft trial of former Governor George Ryan, a Republican. (That trial began in 2006, but dragged on into the spring of the following year.)

The 2007 edition of Chicago's trial of the century was the fraud trial of former media baron Conrad Black.

March is roaring in as a mean lion for Lord Black, onetime publisher of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Daily Telegraph of London, the Jerusalem Post, and of course, my hometown paper, the Morton Grove Champion.

Black, like Ryan, was found guilty. The Canadian native is headed to prison today, but the exact facility remains unknown at this hour.

If this question comes up on Jeopardy, you will know the answer, thanks to this blog:

Rezko gave to every one, he wasn't a Democratic insider, he was a political insider - it made good business sense, even monkey business.

Put down your poison pen and look at reality.

You poor soul.

Rezko gave a smattering of donations to Republicans, most notably (I think) $1,000 to the George W. Bush campaign in 2000.

He herded many wealthy contributors into donating to the Obama and Gov. Blagojevich campaigns, did he do the same for Bush?

Did Rezko suggest names to Bush (as he did with "Blago") to serve on federal boards?

Did Rezko work on real estate deals with Laura Bush? He did with Patti Blagojevich.

Did Rezko have any Republican fundraising events at his Wilmette mansion, like he did with Obama in 2003?

Is is necessary for me to continue?
