Obama speaks in favor of Soviet style elections for joining unions

Mrs. Marathon Pundit was born in the Soviet Union. She "voted" in a few elections there, essentially there was one candidate to choose from, and just in case she decided not to "vote" for the one candidate, there was an election judge keeping an eye on her.

As I blogged yesterday, Sen. Barack Obama walked the picket line with some of the Congress Hotel strikers.

While there, he spoke about the need for unions to have the option to choose to join a union--but not with a secret ballot.

If a Democratic sponsored bill becomes law, unions will be able to sign up workers...and make sure they sign by watching them sign...so they can be coerced, I mean, choose to join a union.

This bill is a terrible idea. And I don't think I'm being over-dramatic by calling in un-American.

In Orwellian fashion, the bill Obama and other Democrats support is called the Employee Free Choice Act.

For decades, organized labor has pumped cash into the campaign funds of Democratic politicians. The so-called Employee Free Choice Act is the pound of flesh they're demanding in return.
