First Rush Limbaugh, then Keith Olbermann? Actually the analogy is imperfect, even though both men earned their living as political commentators before heading to a Sunday night football program.
Olbermann of course toiled for years as an ESPN Sportscenter anchorman, whereas Rush's official sports career ended as a low-lever staffer for baseball's Kansas City Royals.
Today NBC announced that Olbermann will join the staff of NBC's Sunday night football show, but not in the play-by-play booth, of the networks's Football Night Network program.
But will Olbermann mix his politics in a bad way, such as Rush Limbaugh did (Remember Donovan McNabb?) during the latter's short stay with ESPN?
