Big box veto payback: Chicago Federation of Labor refuses to make mayoral endorsement

As I noted earlier today in this post about the duplicitous head of the Chicago Federation of Labor, Mayor Richard Daley's veto of the so-called big-box "living wage" ordinance has his organization on the hunt for aldermen who didn't vote the "right" way last year.

Chicago's fifty aldermen--as well as the mayor and a few other city officials--are up for re-election this year. Daley has weak opposition and is a heavy favorite for re-election. But Daley will be re-elected without the blessing of the Chicago Federation of Labor.

From Rich Miller's Capitol Fax blog:

The Chicago Federation of Labor released its endorsement list in the Chicago municipal elections. No candidate for mayor, including Mayor Daley, was endorsed. Same goes for city treasurer. Daley’s hand-picked candidate for city clerk, Miguel del Valle, did receive the CFL’s nod.
