Faculty from Michigan college buys $2600 ad complaining about Bush commencement speech

Over on the right side of the political spectrum, President Bush is scheduled to be the commencement speaker at tiny Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. Not everyone is happy with this news. Via the Flynn Files, who got the article from the Detroit Free Press.

One-third of the faculty members have signed a letter of protest that will appear in a half-page ad in the Grand Rapids Press on Saturday, the day Bush is to deliver the commencement address to 900 graduating seniors at Calvin. The ad cost $2,600.

Couldn't they have given the money to charity? Or started a blog?
