Two dead in Chiraq expressway shooting

Kennedy Expressway
As I've remarked before not only are shootings up in Chicago--expressway shootings are way up.

The latest one occurred this morning in one of the better neighborhoods in Chiraq.

From ABC Chicago:
Two people are dead and the outbound Kennedy Expressway reopened just before 7:30 a.m. again after an early morning shooting, Illinois State Police say. This is the 18th expressway shooting so far in 2016.

All outbound lanes of the Kennedy were closed at Armitage while police investigated the shooting. The police investigation has been moved to the shoulder of the outbound lanes.

The circumstances of the shooting are not entirely clear but state police say around 4:30 a.m. Saturday they found two people dead inside a silver Chevy Tahoe in a lane of traffic on the northbound Kennedy Expressway near Armitage Avenue.

The medical examiner's office said the victims were an African American man, who was driving, and woman, both 20-40 years old. Police say they died of apparent gunshot wounds to the head.
