A forest fire in the Boundary Waters area of far northern Minnesota has sent smoke as far south as the Chicago area. While running through Morton Grove, Illinois' Miami Woods restored prairie, I was fortunate to capture the vibrant sunset--with the smoke plume serving as a natural filter.
In front of the sun is big bluestem grass. There is a faint smell of burming wood in the air tonight.
