Perry hires five former T-Paw staffers for Iowa campaign

I usually stay away from "Candidate X adds new staffers" stories not because they're too "inside baseball," but because they are actually too "inside the third base coaching box" for my tastes.

But on the heels of yesterday's news that Tim Pawlenty is endorsing Mitt Romney for president, it bears noting that Perry just hired a bunch of former T-Paw staffers for his Iowa effort. In a press release Perry's campaign announced nine new hires, five of them used to work for Pawlenty in Iowa. Matthew Whitaker, who was Pawlenty's chairman in the Hawkeye State, is now co-chair for the Perry campaign there.
