One odious characteristic of the Obama administration--there are many, by the way--is once a bad idea is tabled by Congress, it tries to sneak it through the regulatory route. Examples include union card check and cap and trade. Obama's radicalized Interior Department was in the midst of banning oil and gas drilling on millions of acres of federally-owned land in the West with its wild lands initiative. But the spring budget deal killed the funding for it.
Guess what? The Interior Department hasn't given up. It asked Wyoming--a major energy producing state--to list its "crown jewels" to be protected from energy development. And what did Wyoming do? It didn't give them any locations, because such a move would hurt the Cowboy State's economy.
Good for them.
High energy costs not only harms business, it also hurts the average consumer. Regular gasoline is selling for about $4 a gallon where I live.
