Quinn welshing on Packers-Bears bet because of public-sector union battle

Quinn disses Wisconsin cheeseheads
Illinois Governor Pat Quinn, who won a narrow general election victory last fall--with a great deal of public-sector union support--made a bet with his Wisconsin counterpart over last month's NFC Championship game. Because the Green Bay Packers defeated the Chicago Bears, Quinn has to pay up--in fact, he was supposed to appear in Green Bay wearing a Packer's jersey and volunteer at a food bank today. But since Republican Scott Walker is playing hardball with Quinn's beloved public sector, Rod Blagojevich's old running mate is welshing on his bet--at least for now, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.

So in Madison we have teachers lying about being sick so they can protest instead of spending time in the classroom, joined by doctors writing phony excuses for these "illnesses," and now we have an Illinois Democrat not honoring a commitment.

Sad, very sad.

Hat tip to Capitol Fax.
