On the day after a target of the Tea Party Express, Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), announced his retirement, the freedom caravan continues its victory tour in the Great Lakes State with six rallies, including two in the Stupak district.
All times listed are Eastern Daylight Time.
The buses will cross the magnificent Straits of Mackinac Bridge for a rally in Cheboygan's Washington Park at 8:00am, followed by 10:00 patriotic celebration in Petoskey at the Emmet-Charlevoix County Fairgrounds.
At 11:30am, the resort town of Traverse City will welcome the Tea Party Express at the Grand Traverse Civic Center Pavilion.
The afternoon will see the buses arrive at 14905 220th Avenue in Big Rapids at 3:00pm, with a rapid turnover for a 4:15pm rally in Gerald Ford's hometown of Grand Rapids, in Riverside Park.
The final gathering of a long day will be at Michigan's state capitol in Lansing at 7:15pm
To paraphrase Michigander Jeff Daniels' television commercials, Michigan is the place patriots need to be on Saturday.
Suffering from the nation's highest unemployment rate, Michigan needs the Tea Party Express.
