Irony: Conyers a cosponsor of legislation giving 4 million felons the right to vote

Assuming her appeal fails, former Detroit City County president pro tempore Monica Conyers will be headed to prison. Of course among the many ironies of this story is that Conyers, who is the wife House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, is appealing her guilty plea. Here's another--because a federal judge declared Monica indigent, taxpayers are paying her legal fees for that appeal.

Are you ready for more? Chairman Conyers is a co-sponsor of a bill that will give the right to vote to four million felons. It won't effect the Democrats' wife--Michigan allows convicted felons to vote.

You sure he isn't just representing his district?

Good point. But even his constituents can't be too happy about taxpayers paying for his wife's legal bills.
