Squeeze: Strong in Reason

Squeeze's first album, recorded as U.K. Squeeze, was produced by former Velvet Underground member John Cale and for the most part it's a mess. Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook hadn't hit their stride yet as songwriters and Cale tried to infuse punk rock into the band's sound.

There are some good tunes, including one about a bodybuilder, "Strong In Reason." Watch as Squeeze performs it in 2010. As there is a muscle man on the cover of U.K. Squeeze, this is arguably that album's title track.

CPS files complaint on lawbreaking Chicago Teachers Union

Lawbreaking teachers at Wildwood School this morning
Finally! A Chicago bureaucrat shows some guts!

From CBS Chicago:
Chicago Public Schools has filed a complaint against the Chicago Teachers Union, asking a state panel to bar members from striking again and to make the labor organization pay the school system's costs associated with the mass walkout of teachers on Friday.

CPS CEO Forrest Claypool says the school system is asking the Illinois Education Labor Relations Board for a "permanent injunction" that prohibits similar teachers strikes in the future.

"We think it's important that it be clearly established that whether children are in school and being educated is not subject to the whims of the Chicago Teachers Union leadership," Claypool said during a news conference Friday afternoon. "It is subject to clear, unambiguous state law."

In addition, school officials have asked the state labor panel to force the CTU to reimburse CPS and its partner agencies for the expense of hosting children Friday at hundreds of locations.
The teachers who didn't show up to work today broke the law.

White House censors French president saying "Islamist terrorism"

I am so sick of these politcally-correct leftists.

From the Media Research Center:
The White House website has censored a video of French Pres. Francois Hollande saying that "Islamist terrorism" is at the "roots of terrorism."

The White House briefly pulled video of a press event on terrorism with Pres. Obama, and when it reappeared on the WhiteHouse.gov website and YouTube, the audio of Hollande's translator goes silent, beginning with the words “Islamist terrorism,” then begins again at the end of his sentence.

Even the audio of Hollande saying the words "Islamist terrorism" in French have, apparently, been edited from the video.

Doctor charged in scheme to allow people to bypass US citizenship test

This story just makes me sick.

From the Chicago Tribune:
A Chicago doctor was named Friday in a federal indictment accusing her of diagnosing patients with physical or mental conditions to bypass parts of the testing required for U.S. citizenship.

Jasminka Kostic, 59, and a member of her staff, Nikki Pozdol, 47, were both charged with knowingly making false statements in a document submitted to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, according to a U.S. Department of Justice news release.

According to court documents, both women falsely stated in documents that an applicant was unable to read, write or speak English to answer questions regarding U.S. history and civics, even in their own language.
Presumbably these people, once they have US citizenship, are able to vote.

Trump, Hillary, and Sanders to visit Obama's 58th state on Saturday; Cruz Sunday

It will be a very busy day in Eau Claire, Wisconsin on Saturday. Three of the five remaining major presidential candidates, Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, and Bernie Sanders will appear in the northwestern Wisconsin city tomorrow--of course ahead of America's Dairyland primaries.

Seven years ago then-Sen. Barack Obama told supporters that he had visited 57 states. And that was before Common Core was shoved down students' throats. Three months later he told his cult followers, "Eau Claire is a big and important state."

That makes 58.

Watch below.

Ted Cruz will be in Eau Claire on Sunday. I'm not sure what's up with John Kasich--perhaps he's rehearsing his acceptance speech for the Republican nomination instead.

Ronnie Lane: April Fool

Rather than forcing pranks upon you I decided to post a fantastic fan video of Ronnie Lane singing the radiant "April Fool" from his 1977 collaboration with Pete Townshend, Rough Mix.

It was during the recording of this album that Lane, who was formerly a member of the Small Faces and then Faces, learned that he was suffering from multiple sclerosis.

Of course what's inside Hillary's head is far worse than what's on it. From Doug Ross, GRIDLOCK IN NYC SO HILLARY CAN GET A $1,200 HAIRCUT: A female reader responds.
